I have so many meetings I can't get my work done
Sometimes I observe client meetings and add up in my head the salaries of all the people in the room and estimate the cost to the company for each hour they sit in the meeting. Is the meeting productive? There are some simple meeting practices that can help. Meeting Reviews determine efficacy of current meeting practices, content, cadence, relevance to mission. Talented, insightful people are losing brain cells in bad meetings. That stops today.
Emily Neustadt asked us to
estimate how much money was being wasted on bad meetings, too many meetings, lack of focus, interpersonal conflicts. Then she worked with us to set a focus for the year, and orient to results, decrease the number of meetings and make them more relevant. We could apply all this stuff immediately. She didn't emphasize the conflicts, she just kind of reframed them and showed us all exactly how we could be doing things differently. Get her to come in and talk to you. You'll see. She gets to the main issues fast.
This year is going to be a very good year for us.
