Technology Enhanced Town Hall Events
3000 people brought together in town hall style meeting
Check out Listeningtothecity.org where Emily Neustadt was selected to be one of
the facilitators for the historic post 9/11 event gathering 3000 people in the Jacob
Javits Center to voice their views on how the site of the WTC tragedy was to be
used. Groups were formed with deliberate attention paid to diversity. Each group included
family members of victims who perished there, business people from the local
community as well as the WTC community, residents and those representing the city and
public transportation interests.
Engaging the healthcare community in a conversation about care
Trained as a facilitator for these technology enhanced town halls, Neustadt again
participated as a facilitator for an event that was born in the Clinton Global Initiative.
Donna Karan had recently lost her husband to cancer and while sitting in the conference
room with world leaders, celebrities, investors and philanthopists, she decided to do
something to fix the quality of care offered to critically ill patients.
She, as a wealthy, connected celebrity, experienced the many ways in which our system
can be inhumane and wildly difficult to navigate. She wanted better communication, better
care and better results. She didn't want the loss of her husband to be in vain.
Check out http://urbanzen.org The conference was conceived at the Clinton Global Initiative and took
place in New York City using trained facilitators, bringing together for a five day conversation, world class
physicians, hospital executives, complimentary care leaders, nurses, patients, celebrities who had dealt
with life challenging illnesses, to work together to make change.
Service
Neustadt Consulting exists largely out of a commitment to help leaders create better
organizations, places that are more effective and people more engaged and productive.
We commit certain workshops or services each year free of charge to organizations we
feel we can help.
Check out http://friendsindeed.org where we've given workshops and coaching for many years.
A more recent partner is the outstanding organization Year Up,
that prepares urban young adults for apprenticeships and careers in IT and finance
and success in higher education. Check out yearup.org
